Vikram Korde or 'Vik', as he is known to his friends and colleagues is an engineer by education and a marketer by profession. He has spent the bulk of his career in marketing, working for blue chip FMCG companies and brands that are household names. He has worked in several categories, ranging from candy to beer and in diverse geographies in local, regional and global capacities. Starting his career in sales and marketing in India at Godrej Sara Lee, selling 'Good Knight' home insecticides, he moved on to Sara Lee's global business based in Europe (Barcelona, Spain).
In the early days of his global role, he was responsible for the integration of the Russian home insecticides business into Sara Lee's European business and then led the strategic tie-up of Ambi Pur air fresheners brand with National Geographic for out-of-this-world home fragrances. At Mars (At EU HQ : Germany), as regional head of the billion-dollar Oral Care Gum brand (Orbit, Extra, Freedom), he led the turn-around of the brand in sluggish times and at the same time created the business playbook "where to play and how to win" for Managing Directors across Europe to prioritize marketing investments. He was also responsible for building marketing capabilities in Europe, rolling out the 'evidence-based marketing program'.
Thereafter, at Carlsberg (At global HQ : Denmark), as global head of the biggest brand 'Tuborg', he brought the brand under one umbrella positioning & communication framework, led an in-house creative team and launched the first beer-whisky mix brand. While at Danone, he won a silver Effie, a grand prix at 'Data Et Créativité' (Both in France) and Pentawards NY for various campaigns and innovations launched in his stint as Global Brand Director at Evian-Volvic world (At global HQ : France). On a country level, he was local board member in North Africa at Danone (Algeria) and created a self-sufficient team that turned-around a business in the red and launched the best digital marketing programs in Danone and in Africa. He also initiated and launched global Danone brands on their purpose journey, both in the waters and in the dairy business.
In his short stint as an independent consultant, Vikram has found his niche in bringing business transformation by integrating purpose, innovation & branding and bringing them to the center of insights driven business activity. Vik is based out of Barcelona, Spain speaks native level Hindi, Marathi, English, Spanish and has advanced B2 level French language certification.
